it’d be up to the media placement companies if they wanted to target by browser demographic, but unlikely.
mostly you get these things (cross browser) due to media buys targeting sites that fit a certain demographic. I get mbusa ads from work surfing all the time, or irobot ads from a quick visit to the site
A friend posted a link to Urban Outfitters which I clicked and then moments later on Slate, there was an ad for the exact product she had posted. I’ve noticed this before (the month that I was looking for a platform bed or when I was in the market for a toilet seat).
